תחרות "גביע המצולות" השנתית מס' 14 תערך בתאריכים 3-5 ליוני 2021 באילת.
This is the biggest diving event in the country. Between 25 and 30 diving teams, which holds 100 to 150 diving competitors, take part in this event accompanied by family, friends, diving enthusiasts and other spectators. Among the bodies involved are the ministry of culture and sports, the city council of Eilat and all the major dealers and dive centers in the country. This is the twelve year for this exciting event which receives both internet and media coverage.
The competition is composed of several heats that require various aspects of diving skills, such as buoyancy control, team work, orientation and free diving as well as overall mental self control and initiative.
This is a team contest, but it also incorporates an individual competition within. At the end competitors are evaluated both as teams and individuals and prizes are awarded to the best teams and best individual divers. Many of the dive clubs send their team to compete but there are also many independent teams. Among the valuable prizes are diving vacations and cruises, high end diving gear, underwater photography gear, advance diving courses, money prizes and above it all are the trophies given to the best team and the best diver.

האירועים
Buoyancy control
diving through a buoyancy tower and/or a course of hoops on the sea bed at different depths. Score is based on time and how many times the divers touch the hoops.
Free diving
competitors are required to gather small rings from the sea floor based on different colors while holding their breath for as long as possible.
Total darkness
advancement along a line with different tasks on the way with a totally blackened diving mask.
Team work
the team is required to assemble a devise they never saw before using a sketch while preventing the different pieces from sinking or floating.
Recovery
the teams need to recover a chest from the sea floor using flotation parachutes. Along the way they will need to retrieve more items to add to the chest and adjust the buoyancy accordingly.
Relay
The four members of the team are waiting at the four corners of the pool. Each one should dive to the next corner and switch an item of the diving gear with the next diver. On the way, each diver should decide whether to lose some time to collect items that are worth extra points or skip them and go for the shortest time.
Puzzle
The team should solve a complex riddle underwater as fast as they can.

T.I.D.F is the biggest diving organization in Israel since 1966. T.I.D.F trains divers of all levels as well as qualifying instructors and is constantly working to support and promote the diving industry in many ways.
T.I.D.F has so far purchased, prepared and sunk 10 vessels to become artificial reefs and dive sites, and took part in creating other sites as archeological underwater parks etc. T.I.D.F has thousands of members and qualifies 3000 new divers every year as well as holding 4-5 national events and professional conventions.
